Ashtanga Teacher

Diana O'Carroll practices Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.  Graduating from the Auckland Yoga Academy in December 2005 after a one-year Yoga Alliance teacher-training course, she started Yoga Balance in Auckland New Zealand teaching beginners talk through Ashtanga Vinyasa classes.

As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200 Hour) certified by the Yoga Alliance, Diana has studied anatomy, physiology and trained in the technique of asana (postures). Competent to talk through beginner students up to Bhujapidasana (Arm Pressure Posture) of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series; Diana can also assist a RYT500 Teacher during a Mysore Style class. As part of Yoga Alliance continuing education, in 2006 Diana attended the workshop led by John Scott 'Ashtanga Yoga from the Heart'. In 2009 Diana trained in the technique of Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) at the Ashram Yoga Centre.

Currently Diana divides her time between self-practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, guided practice at the Astanga Yoga Centre and yoga teaching to beginners in Sandringham, Auckland. Diana enjoys studying towards her Bachelor of Business at Auckland University of Technology and developing her career in marketing.
